“I think people watching today would have seen a performance full of energy, full of cohesion, full of spirit,” Revel said.

“You want to come to these places and win and it’s double over them now this season which is a big statement. And also what it does is it makes the players believe more, believe in what they’re doing, believe in their own abilities, believe in what they can do as a team.
“First of all, they have the desire, they have everything that is the minimum that people crave and we have that in abundance and then it’s just about adding a little bit more in terms of how we play. I’m really proud of all of them.
“Sometimes it’s not easy to score goals and we’ve been criticized for a lack of goals. But at times you also have to risk getting.
“It’s not through a lack of creation, it’s not through a lack of placing in districts. We play really, really top football and it takes time. We change what we are and who we are a little.
“When you get opportunities in these games, you have to take them. We’re a work in progress, but this is a huge win. “
There was no such positivity for Barnsley head coach Darrell Clarke.
Clarke and his men remain in the top six, but he is left with many questions.
“Great, real bad performance. So many of our players today are guilty of giving away sloppy possession. I didn’t create anything when we got into the final third, the decision-making was poor. Really loose and sloppy,” he said.
“Last week had me scratching my head thinking how we didn’t score 10 goals. This week we are just miles away from the standard and quality required to be a top six club at this level. The responsibility lies with me, but I cannot legislate for such poor performance.
