The 18-year-old and 17-years-old were arrested in connection with armed robbery on the market and alcohol in El Passo in Rino, where he was shot seller at a store.
Detectives from Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) conducted a thorough video survey about the January 11 robbery site and shared photos and videos with community resources to identify suspects. The collaboration includes several organizations, including Secret Witness, Juvenile Probation and Washo County School Police.
The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Dewon Jones and a 17-year-old youth. On January 23, CGIC detectives and the regional band unit found and arrested both suspects.
Jones faces accusations of attempting to rob a deadly weapon and battery using a deadly weapon. The 17-year-old was detained for an attempt to rob a deadly weapon.
During the robbery, one of the suspects produced a shot that hit the employee in the chest. The victim is injured, without danger to life, he was given medical attention and was released from the hospital. Both suspects escaped from the scene on foot before the police arrived.
