The 15-year-old son of the former candidate for Hialea City Council, Angelica Pacheko, was taken to hospital after being stabbed with a knife at a local park during a fight.
The incident took place in the West 9th Avenue area and 28th Street on Sunday in the early afternoon, when police and fire teams responded to the emergency.
Pacheko told Local 10 News that he had been attacked by several young people, although police confirmed the arrest to only one 14-year-old.
The young victim was identified as Antonio Cabalero, who received 15 stitches on his hand and was also stabbed in the back.
Investigators said Cabayero was involved in a physical battle with another child when he was stabbed several times with an unknown object. The paramedics transported him by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for injuries that were fortunately not life -threatening.
