TRENTON, Fla. (WCJB) — Two candidates, Republican Chad Johnson and Democrat David Arreola, are running for state House District 22.
Voters in Gilchrist and Levy counties and parts of Alachua County will cast ballots in the race on Tuesday.
The election manager, Arreola’s campaign raised $181,000 and Chad Johnson raised $277,000.
On Election Day, voters in Trenton told TV20 they felt it was important for everyone to vote.
“It’s important to have an impact on what our daily lives are going to be like,” Sarah Goodwin said.
Both defeated their opponents in the August primary.
“It’s our inherent right to vote and I believe it’s important that we can teach our children that they should also vote to make sure their feelings are heard,” said James Goodwin.
This seat is up for grabs because Republican Sen. Chuck Clemons is term-limited.
