SOUTH JORDAN — Two adorable babies from Utah are competing for Jessica Alba’s Baby of the Year contest.
Twin sisters Hazel and Emilia are from South Jordan. According to their parents, Caden and Jessica Beardoll, they are happy babies, and for that the Beardoll family is grateful.
“They challenge each other in a really great way and work on being friends,” Caden Beardall said. “Right now, they’re more interested in…”
“Stealing toys from each other,” his wife finished.
Mom and Dad put their girls in the competition on a whim. Since then they have had so much support. People vote once a day and donate to charity to get extra votes.
The twins reached the quarterfinals. If they win, they will collect $25,000 and be featured in Good Housekeeping Magazine.
“We got through the first round and we thought, ‘Well, this is crazy,’ like it’s the worlds right now,” Caden Beardall said.
Jessica Beardall said the prize money could help them build a future.
“We have enough to be comfortable, but we live in a basement apartment and would like to have a home one day,” she said. “But the markets in Utah are crazy.”
Thursday is the last day to vote in the quarterfinals to help the twins advance to the next round — one step closer to winning $25,000.
