Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day in Nevada and the US, with Washoe County polls opening at 7am and continuing until 7pm. Anyone who lines up by 7pm will be able to vote.
State law allows voters to vote at any polling place in their county. In other words, if you’re a Washoe County resident, you can vote at any of the 55 polling places open on Election Day.

How to vote by same-day registration in Nevada
If you are not registered to vote, Nevada allows you to register in person on the same day you vote.
You will need to provide government-issued identification and cast a provisional ballot, which will not be counted until it is verified that you meet the voter registration requirements.
If your ID does not show your current address, you will need to provide valid proof of residence. The following can be used as proof of residency:
- Military ID card
- Utility bill including, without limitation, electric, gas, oil, water, sewer, septic service, telephone, cell phone or cable television bill
- Bank or credit union statement
- Salary
- Income statement
- Statement regarding a mortgage, rental or lease of a home
- Vehicle registration
- Property tax declaration
- Tribal Identity Card
- Any other document issued by a government agency
