BATON ROUGE, La. (WBRC) – Just because Nick Saban is no longer the head coach of the Crimson Tide doesn’t mean LSU fans won’t get a chance to boo their own former National Championship coach.
Saban, along with the others ESPN College Gameday crew, head to Baton Rouge for the annual matchup between the Tide and Tigers.
The announcement came during last Saturday’s broadcast from Penn State.
Saturday Game day will be LSU’s 14th time hosting ESPN’s pregame show and first since Oct. 12, 2019. according to the NCAA.
LSU said the show will be set to The foursome.
The Alabama-LSU matchup had been on the show 11 times before this Saturday, with Alabama set to make its 58th appearance, just one behind all-time leader Ohio State.
Alabama and LSU enter Saturday’s game with all sorts of dreams of making the College Football Playoff.
No. 11 Alabama (6-2, 3-2) has losses to Tennessee and Vanderbilt, while the 14th-ranked Tigers (6-2, 3-1) lost their first game of the year to USC and later to Texas A&M at college station.
It remains to be seen what the College Football Playoff selection committee thinks of the two teams, with the first CFP rankings set to be released Tuesday night.
College Gameday kicks off at 8am with the Tigers and Crimson Tide tipping off in prime time at 6:30pm under the lights at Tiger Stadium.
