Superior School District Superintendent Named “Wisconsin Superintendent of the Year” – WDIO

Dr. Amy Starzecki of the Superior School District has been named the “Wisconsin Superintendent
of the Year” by the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators.

Dr. Starzecki has over 20 years of experience in various educational leadership roles in small,
medium and large school districts. She is being recognized for her role in increasing graduation rates
and the overall achievement of students in schools in the district.

The Wisconsin Association says, “With his focus on increasing graduation rates and overall student achievement, Dr. Starzecki has built strong partnerships with families, students, staff and community organizations. Her collaborative approach underscores her commitment to supporting all student populations in the district.”

Dr. Starzecki holds a PhD and BA from the University of North Dakota.
She also earned a master’s degree in school psychology from Northern Arizona University.
Additionally, she holds licenses as a School Psychologist, Special Education Director, K-12 Director,
and Superintendent, and serves as Assistant Professor teaching graduate courses for aspirants
administrators.

“It is a real honor to receive this recognition. This is the result of the work of our amazing educators
and the students in the Superior School District,” said Dr. Starzecki. “Every day is a privilege to serve
such an amazing community and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together in recent years
seven years.”

Since its inception, the WASDA Superintendent of the Year program has been widely recognized
as the most prestigious honor a Wisconsin school system leader can receive.
