Crews attack brush south of Banning – San Bernardino County Sun

Firefighters contained a brush fire burning Monday in the San Bernardino National Forest south of Banning.

The fire, known as the Wolf fire, was reported around 3:40 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, near Wolfskill Truck Trail and Old Idyllwild Road, south of Highway 10, according to a release from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department X.

The fire grew to 25 acres around 5:11 p.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside.

“Firefighters are making good progress and will remain on the scene working to contain the fire,” the X agency said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no reports of evacuations or injuries as of early Monday evening.

At about 8:10 p.m. Monday, crews halted the fire’s progress, according to Watch Duty, a nonprofit organization that provides fire information.
