In the third game of the 1994 campaign, the Broncos defeated former Big Sky rival Nevada 37-27 against the Blues. The Wolfpack was in its third year of the IA (currently FBS) and finished 9-2 and was the co-champion of the Big West. The win improved Boise State to 3-0.
Two weeks later, Boise State won 28-16 at No. 16 Northern Arizona. In November, the Broncos defeated #1 Montana 38-14 against the Blues and closed out the regular season with a 27-24 victory over #3 Idaho that snapped a 12-game losing streak against the Vandals and clinched the outright Big Sky title.
Boise State has won three straight playoff games at home by a combined 11 points to advance to the I-AA Championship. The victims are No. 18 in North Texas, No. 17 in Appalachian State and No. 2 Marshall. The magical streak ended with a 28-14 loss to top-ranked Youngstown State in the title game as the Broncos finished the season 13-2.
This week, Bronco fans can hear stories from members of the 1994 team as we Boise State Athletics celebrates its 30th anniversary.
