Marble waterfall
Marble Falls is located in the heart of the Highland Lakes region and is a wonderful weekend getaway from big city life. Visitors flock to Marble Falls Lake, part of the Colorado River, for swimming, boating and lakeside lounging, while Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge offers a more active outing with its hiking trails through the area’s hilly landscapes. In the spring, blooming wildflowers in the area, including bluebonnets, make the landscape especially attractive.
You also can’t miss a visit to nearby Granite Mountain or a trip to Johnson Park for a picnic and bird watching along Backbone Creek.
Downtown Marble Falls has dining options, such as the Blue Bonnet Cafe, known for homemade comfort food and pies. Wimberley
Wimberley is a peaceful getaway southwest of Austin, with its blend of natural beauty and small-town charm.
