About 7,630 pounds of frozen croquettes marked as manufactured at a Hialeah facility but made on-site without a USDA inspection permit were recalled from a company in Lehigh Acres, Fla., on Tuesday.
A Tu Gusto’s chicken, ham, fish and croquettes also pose a food allergy risk, according to the USDA recall notice.
All expiration dates on the 32-ounce boxes of croquettes made from April through October were recalled from Florida and Texas and bear “EST. 11154” in the USDA mark of inspection. This establishment number belongs to La Autentica, 2294 W. 78th St. in Hialeah.
“The plant associated with ‘11154’ was not aware that it was being used by the recalling firm,” the USDA said in a statement. “The problem was discovered when (USDA’s Office of Food Safety Inspection) was conducting surveillance activities at a retailer and noticed labeling irregularities. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the items were manufactured in a facility that did not have an inspection permit and contained allergens not declared on the product label.

Soy, sesame seed and wheat are not listed on the product label. People with a soy allergy, wheat allergy, or sesame allergy may have a reaction if they eat these croquettes.
These croquettes must be returned to the store for a full refund. If you have any questions about this recall, email A Tu Gusto owner Jose Garcia at [email protected].
