I would stop with the bold forecasts. Then I chose Deigan to win A2, Anderson to bounce, J Cooper to Breakout and I couldn’t. Don’t read the other photos. I think Troy wrote them.
Striking, while the iron is hot, I decided to continue my 5 bold (light) forecasts for another week when we head to the 4th round of the Monster Energy Amaa Supercross Championship this Saturday at Glendale.
Read on …
#5 fourth winner in such circles
Don’t look now, but we’re in the midst of one of the best start to monster Energy ama Supercross in history. Think about it only in class 450:
- We had three winners in three rounds (Chase Sexton, Eli Tomak and Jet Lawrence)
- We had three riders to hold the red slabs (Sexton, Tomac and Ken Roczen)
- The first five on points (after three rounds) are divided by only 10.
- And this Saturday we have a triple crown!
We all love to say “This year is the best” and although sometimes it is true, and sometimes a product of a recipe biases, I want to proclaim right here, right now: this is the best three rounds in history!
Okay, maybe not, but it was an incredible start to the year and I think it’s even better this weekend with three competitions that are actually counting. And we get a fourth winner in four rounds when Ken Rockyan extends his lead to dots.
#4 Joe Dog Top 8
A rider we haven’t talked about this year is Joey Savati. Although he did not have the best start of the year-21-10-11 through three rounds-this was not terrible when you thought of the last time he riding 450 at Monster Energy ama Supercross before this year was 2023! Joey is one of those dudes like Malcolm Stewart at the beginning of his career who had to get more support in the 450 class, but just didn’t. This year he found a good landing place for Quadlock Honda Racing (before that Fire Power Honda) and was quite good through three rounds. Until you look at 11 in Anaheim 2 and don’t think much about it, see who ended in the back: Jett Lawrence, Ken Roczen, Jason Anderson, Chase Sexton, Hunter Lawrence, Justin Cooper, Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, Malcolm and Malcolm S Talk about a number of killers. With a few rounds under his belt, like J Cooper last week, Jo Dog is prepared for its best final for the season in Glendale.
#3 Jumping of the world
We need to provoke some respect for the name of Koti Shock. The whole dude has made him from joining the MUC-OFF/FXR/Clubmx Yamaha team, as Castaway was performed last year last year. His team threw a rescue raft when he had dropped out of another team and he rewarded them with the top 10 final after the top 10 of the final – even with a damn broken clavicle last year.
Since joining the team in the Eastern region of 250sx in 2024, Schock has 10 top ten endings and has gone 6-6-5 to start 2025 while he is not on the podium during this period- He finished the fourth in Detroit last year- he was so close. This is changing this weekend thanks to the triple crown. The consistency will win this weekend and as I just showed you, Koti was solid. The first podium career on Saturday.
#2 Dylan bounces back
Crazy to think that just a few years ago, Dylan Frandis won the Pro Motocross Championship … as a rookie! Yes, man, he was good. Ask Jeeves. Until he has returned to this level in the supercross of his season, he is solid. I think we forget that he went 5-6-6 to start 2024 and generally had 10 top ten finishes in 12 rounds. Obviously he is sick to start this year, so start by 2025 with grain salt. I think we see a different rider this weekend, like his first top 8 of the year.
#1 Deagan wins again
Brave, I know, but hey, I have to keep my percentages.
