The 4-nations championship game between the United States and Canada on Thursday night celebrated the largest ESPN hockey audience, the network reported on Friday.
The game, in which Canada beat 3-2 in the overtime thriller, raised 9.3 million viewers with 10.4 million viewers in their peak.
It was also the biggest audience for a non-NFL ESPN+event.

SportsNet reported 10.7 million people in Canada, viewed Thursday night – over a quarter of the country’s population.
With the exception of Pro and College Football Coverage, the 4 -nation championship game was the biggest ESPN audience after the NBA finals in 2024, when Boston Celtics defeated Dallas Maverix four matches to one.
The four tournament matches that ESPN have shown to have attracted an average of 4.3 million.
