LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – The Lubbock Community Garden and Arts Center (GAC) will host a reception and awards ceremony on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for the 35- 8th Annual National Arts Program in Lubbock. Awards will be presented beginning at 6:30 p.m. The annual exhibit features artwork by City of Lubbock employees, family members, volunteers and City of Lubbock retirees.
The National Arts Program show is currently on display at the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center located at 4215 University Ave through Saturday, November 23rd.
Judges for the 2024 National Arts Program exhibition are Zach Morris, owner of the Charles Adams Gallery; Nancy Slagle, Associate Professor, Texas Tech University; and Melinda Green Harvey, a writer and photographer based in Lubbock.
The National Arts Program aims to give all artists of all skill levels the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional manner and compete for cash prizes. Sponsored by the Foundation for a National Arts Program and in collaboration with the City of Lubbock, the exhibit features five classifications: amateur, intermediate, professional, teen and youth.
The Lubbock Community Garden and Arts Center strives to offer an array of fun and engaging classes and events for all ages. The center is located at 4215 University Avenue.
