3 Charged in Murder of Texas Woman Who Interrupted Their Car Theft – CrimeOnline

Three Texas men have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in the killing of a Beaumont woman who interrupted them by stealing her car last month.

The killing of 39-year-old Ebony Gilbert was caught on surveillance video on Sept. 26, KFDM reported.

A timestamp on Ring’s doorbell video shows the suspects — identified as D’Corey Shilow, 21; Javonta Turner, 21; and Tydrick Davis, 20 – stealing Gilbert’s car outside her home, according to their arrest affidavits. She went outside to see what was going on, and a gunman, according to prosecutors, Shilow shot her.

Gilbert tried to return to his house, but collapsed and died.

The next day, Gilbert’s mother discovers the body when she goes to her daughter’s house after being unable to contact her.

According to court documents, Shilow admitted his involvement in Gilbert’s death and named Turner and Davis as accomplices. He said he gave the clothes he was wearing that night to Turner, and investigators found them when they executed a search warrant at Turner’s home.

Davis reportedly told a witness that he was with Turner and Shilow at the slaying, according to his arrest affidavit.

A judge set Shilow’s bond at $750,000, while a magistrate set bond for Turner and Davis at $800,000. In addition, Turner must wear a GPS monitor, stay out of Jefferson County and have no contact with his co-defendants.
