3 -Alarm Fire in Ballard collapses with construction in the process of construction – Komo News

The Seattle Fire Service (SFD) struggled with a three alarms in a building in the Ballard neighborhood on Sunday morning.

The fire in the 900 block of the NW 54th ST was reported on social media at about 6:30. The fire began in a building under construction and spread in an occupied eight unit of a city house.

The fire from the burning building was so intense that it melted windows in the city house. The main building of fire collapsed and the fire spread to the second and third floors of the city house. The city house is evacuated and the crews put water on the fire.

A woman of the 20s was treated at the scene and does not need transportation to a hospital, staff said.

Northwest Market Street was closed in both directions between the 11th Avenue northwest and 9th Ave NW.

People in the area are advised to close their windows and doors to avoid smoke exposure.

Firefighters expect to be in place for the rest of the day to extinguish hot spots and watch flames.
