Grant County, Wi – Friends, Family and the wider community of law enforcement complain the loss of Grant Dylan Bellamy County County County County.
The 22 -year -old Bellemi from Benton, Wisconsin died Saturday after being hit by a vehicle while walking on a highway near Maton, Illinois.
“Dylan was a bright young man with a big future in the sheriff’s office,” Sheriff of Grant Craig Reucaf said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
Bellamy began her career in law enforcement as a dispatcher in Coles County, Illinois, before joining the sheriff of Grant County in December 2023.
He was also a member of the National Guard of the Army and was in Illinois for a training weekend with his unit, which is based outside Matun.
To support the staff of the Sheriff’s office, Reukauf activates the PEER support team of the department, and the grief adviser is available for additional services.
Before midnight on Saturday, Bellamy walked on Illinois 16 near the I-57 clover when a car, driven by a 35-year-old man, with two young girls as passengers, hit him, Monroe Times reported.
No one in the vehicle has been injured and the crash remains in the process of investigating.
