2025 NFL Intelligence Report: Demetrius Knight Jr.

Demetrius Knight, Jr. (LB – South Carolina)

6 feet-2 | 245 pounds

Background

Demetrius Knight Jr. was an unsettled rookie who ended up in Georgia Tech, where he spent four seasons playing sparingly through (a total of 270 clicks and 51 equipment from 2019-2022) Taight transferred to Charlotte, where he spent one season and a total of 96 -6.0-1.5 with three intercepts before moving to South Carolina for the season 2024. Posted 82-8.0-2.0 with Gamecocks.

Positive

Knight made a big jump in the level of competition last season and justified well. A large, well -built linker of impressive length. A fast -paced linker, which usually shows good instincts when reading keys in the performance game. Is it a nice job to keep your shoulders square when running toward the ball. Those wishing to get into the hole and do the dirty work by taking on runners back to help.

Knight’s length allows him to receive extensions and lock opposite blockers. It offers a side line range to the line arising from its continuous motor and impressive overall athleticism. It carries it from the point of view of the noise. It closes quickly in pursuit. Its length gives it an impressive radius of coping. Was a very reliable defender – credited with missed gear only 10% of his attempts at Pro Football Focus (PFF).

Quite an invading, universal leader of the coating that can be overshadowed over opposite narrow edges, but usually works in areas, showing fast legs and loose hips. Uses his hands effectively to pass when matching patterns from shallow areas. It has the harsh speed to carry its back to the apartment. He has captured four passes in the last two seasons (one peak-six) and has the length to influence the throwing of strips when he is found.

Negative

A little more diligent than your typical perspective after spending six years in school, but with only one FBS season, he started experience under his belt. The energetic style of play can also be crossed into a lack of patience and discipline. Sometimes he is lured by a position of a game of counterfeits and misdiating that benefits from the feeling of urgency with which he plays.

Knight is faster than it is coordinated, with some problems with balance and movements beyond control at times. There is no consistent anchor to hold the point of attack when mixing things with opposite blockers. It seems like a balance/technique problem, not a power problem. Exceeds some spots in space. Sometimes he can play a little shallow in the areas, losing a trace of players who slip behind him. There is a relatively minimal experience as a pass that has been two or three clicks per game in the last two seasons.

Summary

An energetic, well -built linker with an impressive scope and flexibility to play physically between the equipment or the performance of demanding tasks to cover. Knight was put on the map this season after transferring from Charlotte to SEC.

At this point, he has all the tool teams to search for the three-down line player, but his instincts and discipline are still in the process of working, which can allow the teams to manipulate him with play and improper targeting. These disadvantages could create teams of concern, given that he spent six years in school. It is worth mentioning that its trajectory of development looks good and it has clear features at the initial level.
