Dathan Hansen, Kalan Steinbeck and Raeann Massey have done it.
The three Washington County athletes broke the wrestling grip in Nannen’s Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week feature. Congratulations and please read on.
Dathan Hansen, Fremont Swimming: The Arlington Tiger celebrated her double senior night with a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, but also three first-place team relay finishes with her fellow Fremont swimmers. Special mention goes to Nebraska Capitol (NCC) wrestling champions Kelise Krivohlavek and Dianna Flores, as well as basketball standout Schuyler Logemann, who scored 22 points against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.
Callan Steinbeck, Blair Basketball: A 32-point game for a freshman? Yes, Steinbeck is the pick after leading his Bears past Harlan with five 3-pointers. He also had 11 points against Crete. Of particular note were Kate Wolfe, who scored 21 points and made seven 3-pointers against Harlan in the loss, as well as Hudson Logis, who earned his 150th career win.
Raeann Massey, Fort Calhoun basketball: The Pioneers had a 2-0 week and Massey led the team in scoring with 33 total points. She scored 21 against Omaha Brownell-Talbot. Special mention goes to Ansley Elofson, who scored 15 points against Omaha Concordia, and Jackson Burns, who scored 17 points at Brownell-Talbot. I also have to mention Becca Gossman who won an NCC wrestling title.
As you know I love to write, thanks for reading.
