Frances McDormand
Frances McDormand was born “Cynthia Smith” and adopted at 18 months by a couple who renamed her “Frances McDormand”.
In an interview for New York Times, Frances turned down the opportunity to meet her birth mother, whom she described as “white trash,” when she was a teenager.
“I identify as gender-normative, heterosexual, and white-trash American,” Frances he joked. “My parents weren’t white trash. My birth mother was white trash.
