BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Police are investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of Third Avenue West that injured two children and an adult Tuesday night.
According to Sgt. Officers from LaQuitta Wade, Birmingham, were dispatched to the area at 8:11 p.m. on a ShotSpotter report.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service transported two juveniles to Children’s Hospital, one with a life-threatening condition. An elderly man was transported to UAB hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a family of five was traveling in a car on Third Avenue West when a vehicle pulled up next to them. The driver or passenger inside fired shots at the family car and fled the scene. There are currently no arrests.
