Experts say this is the oldest flu season in the United States after more than a decade and the cases are still trending. The influenza infections reach the highest level since the winter of 2010-11, when swine flu diversified throughout the country, according to data from the centers for the control and prevention of diseases.
The case in influenza cases also comes against the background of fears about the high infection rates for other viruses, including RSV, Covid-19 and gastrointestinal noorovirus. However, health officials say that the cases of influenza are among their main concerns at the moment.
It also spreads to schools, but not at the speed at which employees are worried. The Washoe school district said the number of outbreaks was around normal during this time of year.
This week, the district said three schools and 11 classrooms were considered a fire status, a designation given by the health department. While most of the cases are associated with a respiratory disease, at least one school is in the status of a hearth for a gastrointestinal problem.
According to public health in North Nevada, the status of the outbreak means more cases expected. This is not a number or percentage set.
North Nevada’s public health said that the whole school should be placed on the status of an influenza epidemic, there must be at least two confirmed laboratories in the population. The number again depends on the school.
Grips Death ahead of Covid-19 for the first time from the pandemic
For the first time since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, it began five years ago, and influenza deaths have exceeded the death associated with Covid-19, this winter this winter.
These numbers reflect how intense the flu season was, said Jen Bul, President of the American Academy of Family Doctors.
In Washo County, 11 people were killed by Covid-19 this season.
The degree of flu vaccination for children at a 6-year-old low
The weight of this year’s flu season is guided by a combination of factors, according to experts.
Daniel Griffin, a specialist in infectious diseases at Columbia University, said the step could be the result of the fact that people who point more than in the immediate years after the pandemic.
The degree of vaccination can also play a role, Bruol said.
The degree of flu vaccination among the general population is at its lowest level for three years, according to CDC data. They are six years old among the children.
In Nevada, the degree of flu vaccination is 17.6 %, the lowest in at least seven years, according to the state vaccine dashboard, which returns to 2018.
For children, the degree of vaccination is at the most level of at least 2018, according to the state dashboard. This year, 11% of children under the age of 10 were vaccinated for influenza. Just over 7% of children and young adults aged 11-20 were vaccinated for the flu this season.
“Every family doctor would tell you that it is not too late to get your flu or your Covid Booster this year,” Bruol said. “Flu and forge exist throughout the year.”
