2 arrested, including 12-year-old, after a deadly shooting in northern Lubok-Lubbockonline.com

Police on Sunday announced that two people were arrested in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded on February 15 in northern Lubock.

The Lubbock Special Crime Department has received arrest warrant for 20-year-old Joe Angel Martinez, according to police. Label investigators arrested Martinez in 2,900 block of East Bates at 11:30 pm Friday. Martinez was booked at the Lyubbok County Center, charged with murder. His bond was set at $ 500,000.

A 12-year-old minor has also been removed in this case. The minor was booked at the Lyubbok County Center on charges of stealing a firearm, possessing a controlled substance and illegal weapon carrying.

Deadly Shooting in northern Lyubok

Police on Friday released observation images showing that suspects were thought to be involved in a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded last weekend in northern Lubbok.

Initially, the officers were summoned around 11:20 pm Saturday to 1200 block on Jarvis Street for a battle report, a LPD statement said.

Shortly thereafter, officers located on 36-year-old Adam Hernandez in a vehicle in the North Avenue Q Block with a firearm. He was declared dead in place.

The driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Larry Moreno, was also shot dead. He was taken to the University Medical Center through an ambulance with serious but life -threatening injuries.

Hernandez’s death led to an investigation into the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crime Division.

Through the initial course of the investigation, it seems that there was a verbal dispute in the 1200 block on Jarvis Street, including victims and other persons who spilled beyond the usual and led to many physical disputes.

Police have not identified suspects until Friday, but has released observation images showing two men, whom investigators believe they are involved in the shooting.
