2 arrested in connection with stolen vehicle in downtown Lubbock – KCBD

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Two people were arrested after police received reports of a stolen vehicle in downtown Lubbock Thursday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m., Lubbock County Sheriff’s deputies were first called to the area of ​​eastbound Highway 84 and eastbound FM 1585. While en route, the location was updated to an area near 44th and Ave. T.

Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to detain the suspects in the vehicle. Police said Robert Barrientos, 35, and Maya Padilla, 18, led deputies on a short chase before being taken into custody.

In addition to the recovery of the stolen vehicle, deputies and Lubbock Police also recovered numerous items of crime that LPD is currently investigating.

Barrientos and Padilla face multiple charges including theft, possession and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
