BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge teenager has been arrested and charged with taking $2,000 to kill a man. Johnny Green was murdered in his home in September.
Baton Rouge police believe he was shot just after arriving at his home on Brady Street.

“On September 13th just before 2 o’clock officers responded to the 3500 block of Brady Street in reference to a shooting, they observed that Green had been shot multiple times, possibly he had just returned home. There was no suspect and unknown motive at this time,” said Darren Ahmed, BRPD Public Information Officer.
New evidence led them to arrest 18-year-old Anthony Torreganohayes on Thursday. He has been charged with first degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
BPRD says murder-for-hire cases are not common in Baton Rouge, especially when the suspect is a teenager.
“It’s not a common thing now, and I know sometimes people look and say it’s something you see in a movie or a movie,” Ahmed said. “Whether someone put a big number or a small number, the fact remains that someone was willing to pay someone to commit a crime that they themselves did not want to commit.”
According to BRPD, witnesses told detectives that the suspect was seen fleeing the scene on a bicycle and that he was armed with a shotgun. A tip from a criminal agent and security camera footage played a role in the arrest.
The dashcam footage has been shared with police as part of a new initiative to get more people to help fight crime.
“We partner with a lot of third-party companies that help BRPD throughout the city of Baton Rouge with putting in additional cameras, our mayor, our chief, all of these people are involved in making Baton Rouge a better and safer place, and video surveillance is one of the ways to do it,” explained Ahmed.
As for who may have hired the alleged teenage killer, police say they are still investigating.
“If it comes to the conclusion that we are developing another suspect or a person who hired the person, then yes, he will be criminally charged,” Ahmed said.
The teenager was arrested on October 1st on unrelated charges, during that arrest they obtained evidence of the alleged murder and he was arrested again on Thursday.
