A guard spokesman said the employees of the Dublin Crime Response Team were conducting an ongoing operation led by Mountmelik intelligence and a number of other places.

They said that approximately 182 kg of cocaine and 4 kg of herb cannabis have been seized and that the estimated value of seized medicines is over 12.8 million euros (€ 10.6 million).

They added that three men were arrested and were currently detained in accordance with Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs) of 1996 at the stations of the Guard in the Eastern Region.

Commissioner’s assistant Paul Clairi said the operation had downloaded a cocaine delivery network.

“This operation, led by the intelligence, conducted by the Dublin Crime (DCRT) response team, has downloaded the main cocaine delivery network and breaks cocaine in West Dublin,” he said.

“This operation, aimed at the supply, preparation and distribution of significant quantities of these illegal drugs, stopped them from entering our communities and is another significant blow to an organized criminal group.”
