10 Counties within a state of emergency – public broadcast in West Virginia

Governor Patrick Morrisi has declared an emergency against the backdrop of heavy rainfall and floods in cable, grinver, Canaha, Logan, Mercer, McDowell, Ming, Rales, Samors and Wyoming.

Morrisi calls on all Western Virginians to be vigilant and to be careful, as other parts of the state are affected by adverse weather. He ordered the staff and resources to mobilize and respond to any emergency situations and delegated certain administrative powers of the Director of the Emergency Situations Department in Western Virginia (WveMD) to facilitate the provision of major emergency services.

The state of readiness is already in force in all 55 districts of West Virginia. The National Meteorological Service has issued warnings for floods, floods and warnings of floods in certain regions of the state.

Temperatures become cold later today behind this front, leading to snowfall through parts of the area. Snow blowing areas can be possible in the mountains when gusts of NW winds arrive. Very cold and bitter air arrives this week with a Canadian system. 30, 20 and teens as high temperatures are probably until Friday; Low nights in teens and single numbers will be common. Watching a unfolding snow event that seems possible in the middle of the week.
