Last week we told you about 12 business we love, but it was just just the beginning!
Here are 10 more business with black owners at Magic City that you can support this black month of history throughout the year.
1. Sliding a cafe
Chef Raquel Erwin, who appeared at Food Network Slicedis one of the best restaurateurs in the Birmingham area. Erwin is the cook behind Slide Café with five points, as well as the former Bistro Smoke in Pizitz.
On Slide, Erwin serves a delicious selection of sandwiches and appetizers like a 12-hour breast slider and chicken pesto slider.
2. Hit differently! Bbq
A former popular food truck in the Birmingham area, struck different! BBQ opened its first place for bricks and mortar in Pelham in 2024
Owned by Zanetta Roberson, this barbecue co -serves classic favorite Soul Food Favorites like Bangin ‘Bama Cheesysteak and Poppin’ Porkchop Sandwich.
3. The House of Fashion of JB
Owned by Ernest “JB” Brown Senior, JB’s House of Fashion is one of the oldest and most reliable Birmingham stores for men’s fashion.
They have a wide variety of men’s suits, shirts, blazers, ties, accessories and hats for every occasion.
4. Trend Station
One of Birmingham’s favorite food trucks, A-Train is known for its wings, Quesadillas and another delicious southern comfortable food.

5. Don’t worry
Kelly Kaulfield and London Jackson, the restaurants behind the Ice-Broad Peau boys of NOLA Steux in Pizitz’s Food Hall, do not disturb, do not bother in 2024.
The concept is an elevated sports bar located near Lakeshore Parkway near Lowe’s. With many TVs and seating, the perfect place to sit and watch games, drink beer or cocktail and enjoy creative dishes.
6. Birmingham Times
Did you know that Birmingham Times is a black newspaper?
The publication was founded in 1964 by Jesse Lewis Seni to give the local black community a greater voice during the fight for civil rights. Today, it covers various local news in education, community, business and sports.
7. Brothers’ razor Etherege
Founded in 1970 by Willie Etherege, Senior and Joe Etherege, the Brother Etherger’s razor has cut the hair in the Birmingham community for more than 50 years.
According to their Facebook page, they have mentored hundreds of barbers and stylists who continue to open their own business – their motto is “If you don’t get it here, you don’t have it!“
8. Mama ‘Nem Southern Kitchen
Owned by Chris Hollaman, Mama ‘Nem Southern Kitchen opened near the Rickwood Field in 2024. This long-awaited soul restaurant is specialized in comfortable food with a fine dining atmosphere, serving everything-from cookies and sauce to steak and lobsters S

9. Coffee of green acry
With four seats in the Birmingham area from the center to Enli, Green Acres Café is a hot spot for chicken wings and other favorite southern. Don’t miss fried green tomatoes!
10. Truck for dirty red foods
The ownership of the Nelesha Dale, the Dirty Red Food Truck is known for the loaded fried potatoes, Quesadillas, Burgers and My Favorite – Strawberry Lemonade. You can catch the truck through the Birmingham area, from Forestdale to Woodlawn and beyond.
